- She smiled again. “Until the next time.”
- Aethan chuckled.
- Andrew smiled at her. “I’m sure it will help.”
- “There will be time enough for that,” Ealute said.
- “Yes,” Abbey replied instantly, guilelessly. She smiled at Weston. “What kind of neighbors would we be if we didn’t?”
Blood and Brothers
“And now you’re here, you’re the perfect son!” Aethan said mockingly, “You’re the elder son, the crown prince, the one who goes to classes morning, noon, and night. You eat with them all the time. Go to church with them. You’re the perfect prince, but you’re too proud to call yourself after your father, Ealute Delmar.”
“I didn’t even know I had a father until a month and a half ago!” Ealute retorted, his emotions rising. He could feel his face flush with anger. “And you’ve had him for twenty years. What have you done with him?”
Aethan flushed in turn and struggled to say something, but Ealute pushed on.
“You say I’m the perfect son. Have you considered that I'm also the son of the wife he didn’t want? He divorced my mother before I was even born! Forced her to leave her home and family! She lived in shame for the rest of her life because of that divorce! I may be the son Father has always wanted, but you are the son from the wife he truly loved! Isn’t that more important?”

About the Book
Ealute Delmar grew up as a farmer in the rustic community of Loral, but just as he’s about to turn twenty-one, his dying mother reveals that he is the crown prince and heir to the throne of Sagam. Following the last wishes of his mother, Ealute goes to Sagam to meet his father, the aloof King Winsloe, and his new family, consisting of gentle Queen Catherine, antagonistic Prince Aethan, and intrusive Chyril, the cursed spirit who controls the inheritance of the throne. Ealute just wants to go back home to Loral, but he must face the curse that binds his family, either to break it or fall to it.
