“I see what you mean Duster, it’s not going to be easy, is it? But how do you move this sort of thing around?” asked Ariel, a little perplexed by the problem. “How DO you move this?”
“Well, we need a far broader back than I have, and something that it won’t slide off!” replied Duster, as he and Ariel tried to remove the last remnants of the honey from his back.
“A broader back that it won’t slide off?” replied Ariel as she thought about what Duster had said.
“What about Spike?” she asked, excitedly clapping her hands together. “It wouldn’t fall of his back, would it?” she half asked, as the thought sounded better when said out loud.

About the Book
For the series of Ariel & Duster, I decided not to present them as individual books, at least to start with. So within the series of the Almanac, each Almanac has 3 stories, with the set of 4 Almanacs covering the Summer, Autumn, Winter & Spring seasons.
This series of books have been written for the early readers. These books would best be used for a range of ages from around 7 to 9 years old.
Essentially they have been written as either bedtime stories or an introduction to reading for the younger reader who is able to read on their own.
They have been designed in a first real book style and the language has been kept fairly easy, though there are a few words used that may require an explanation for the younger reader.
As with all this series, they are designed to get the imagination working and allow the mind to think of resolutions to problems and how to approach them.
In this book, Ariel and Duster start their garden adventures.

Having spent my formative years in the countryside, my first memories are around picking potatoes from the fields for the farms around the village I grew up in.
Somehow this progressed into the computer scene when I got to my late teens, and for the last 30 years or more, IT has been my home for work and pleasure.
I never thought of writing stories, and had no reason to believe that I would even try to write, let alone publish a childrens book. Since a lot of my last few years has been writing process's, reports, technical information documents and training materials, I am not really sure of how I got here.
I know that it all started with my wives request to write a quick outline for a story that her class of primary children could then adapt and complete. Having completed this, I found that I wanted to fill in the blanks and finish the story.
I enjoyed the process of writing and creating the stories that have turned into Ariel & Dusters adventures, and I hope they will be enjoyed by yourselves just as much .
